Google announced that it will roll out some AI-assisted features in some of its productivity apps. The rollout isn’t going global, though, as the company specified that the features will only be available to trusted testers in the U.S., similar to its chatbot Bard. But by the end of the year, the new features will reach all users.
These features will be implemented in Google Docs, Gmail, Sheets and Slides. For example, within Docs, the interface will bring easy access to AI, so you can discuss, summarize, or brainstorm ideas as you write articles. In Gmail, AI can extract context from short bullet points and compose entire emails. As for slideshows, you can generate images, audio and video on the fly so you can give better presentations.
Google has highlighted some features that are coming to all Google users soon.
You can even choose the tone of your writing, which is more suitable for the occasion, use AI to help you make drafts based on a certain topic, and summarize long-chain emails to save money time, proofread and even rewrite your document.
