Google announces new Android and Wear OS features

Google’s latest feature drops for Android and Wear OS bring several new features to Android phones and Wear OS smartwatches. These new features will be made available to users over the next few weeks, just in time for the holiday season.

  • Cast to Google TV to watch The Google TV app now allows you to cast content directly to your TV with just one tap. You can browse content on your phone while watching TV, and use your phone as a remote control.

  • Android new reading mode Android’s new reading mode brings accessibility features for a better reading experience. You can customize display font type, size, color, text-to-speech and playback speed.

  • New YouTube Home Screen Search Widget
  • Easily access content from YouTube on your home screen with just one tap. The new YouTube Home screen widget gives you access to your Subscriptions Feed, Favorite Videos and Shorts directly from the Home screen.

  • Digital car key sharing can now share compatible digital car keys to other Google Pixel phones or iPhones through the phone’s Digital Wallet app.

  • New holiday photo designs in Google Photos
  • Google Photos will get a new holiday photo design option created by Yao Cheng Design. Users can select their own photos and arrange them in one of several new design options.

  • You can now combine more emoji into stickers via Gboard.

  • New Wear OS Features
  • Wear OS Tiles for easy navigation to shortcuts to apps like Contacts, Google Maps, Weather, etc. Google Keep has been updated with an improved look that fits better on smartwatch screens. Adidas Running now supports Google Assistant voice commands.
