Google Pixel 8 will have smaller 6.16-inch screen, Pixel 8 Pro will keep 6.7-inch diagonal

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 7a smartphone at I/O, its I/O developer conference next month. Beyond that, it’s also working on its 2023 flagship Pixel 8 series, and today we learned new details about them from industry insiders.

According to DSCC’s Ross Young, Google will put a 6. 23″ panel on the Pixel 8 , putting a 6.7” screen on top of the Pixel 8 Pro. He claimed that the order for the display was sent to Samsung and that manufacturing should begin in May.

The Pixel 8’s diagonal is actually a bit smaller than the Pixel 7’s 6. 23″ Control Pad. The Pixel 8 Pro will be the third Pro version in a row to feature a 6.7″ diagonal.

We’ve already seen both phones in CAD-based renders last month, and they suggest that Google will ditch the flat surface it currently uses. It will retain the slightly rounded edges, and the camera strip that made the Pixel phones stand out.

We should have more details as the announcement gets closer and we’ll make sure to keep you updated.
