Bryce Harper’s phenomenal return to the big leagues will be in focus today as the Phillies take on MLB.TV’s free game of the day dodgers.
Harper underwent Tommy John surgery in November and is expected to be Returning for the All-Star weekend, he completed just 160 days of recovery from his season debut on Tuesday, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts.
Harper’s home run struggles aren’t unique – Philadelphia The Los Angeles Lakers fell 13-1, their only score coming from a single by former Dodgers Trey Turner. After winning seven of their first 10 games before entering the series and moving above .500 for the first time in 2023, they are now down 26-5 through their first two games. Phillies let Aaron Nola (2 -2, 4.46 ERA) into the finals. The right-hander was strong against the Astros on Friday, allowing three hits in eight innings.
Dodgers handed the ball to 24-year-old right-hander Gavin Stone , which was his major league debut. A fifth-round pick in the 2020 draft, Stone is the club’s No. 4 pick in the MLB Pipeline rankings. In his minor league career, he has a 2.69 ERA and 333 strikeouts in 237 1/3 innings.
