Last night, the FIT Museum’s Fashion Council Young Patrons and Brazilian brand PatBo came together for a cozy dinner featuring Cuban and Mexican flavors for Latino and Latino fashion designers . Lizzie Asher and Adrien Lesser hosted the evening’s soiree at Café Habana with chef and owner Luke Thomas, who cooked delicacies such as grilled corn with crumbly Cotija cheese and Tostones.
MUSEUM ¡FIT EXHIBITION Modahoe! Latin American and Latino Fashion Design Today, highlights numerous designers; fashions by Adolfo, Víctor Alfaro, Maria Cornejo, Oscar de la Renta, Luis Estévez, Carlos Falchi, Carolina Herrera and Isabel Toledo are featured. Organized by Tanya Melendez-Escalante, Senior Curator of Education and Public Programs at MFIT, and Melissa Marra-Alvarez, Curator of Education and Research at MFIT, the stunning display is now on view.
To commemorate the opening of the exhibition, guests sipped on Casamigos coffee and ate Cuban sandwiches while the sexy lyrics of Compay Segundo’s “Guajira Guantanamera” were crooned over the speakers . Attendees include: Kimberly Drew, Jonathan Cohen, Sarah Hoover, Nikki Kynard, Gabby Prescod, Sandrine Charles, Ashley James and more.
Bestselling Sex and the City author and creator Candace Bushnell also in attendance meeting – no doubt cheering for the anniversary of her show, which just so happened to debut on the same day 25 years ago.
That’s it , the night is over…but not without a late-night salsa that lasts into the night.
