Hayao Miyazaki's final film, renamed The Boy and the Heron, selected by GKIDS for North American distribution

Japanese anime legend Hayao Miyazaki Highly anticipated final film, newly retitled in English The Boy and the Heron ) has been selected by animation specialist publisher GKIDS for release in North America later this year. The deal continues Studio Ghibli’s longstanding partnership with GKIDS to distribute its titles in the U.S.

international title was revealed on Friday as Boys & Heron .

Animated Feature Film – Hayao Miyazaki in The first feature film of the year – opening exclusively in Japanese cinemas this weekend. Studio Ghibli made the

unprecedented decision to have no images of the film other than a cryptic poster (below) , trailers, synopses, commercials or other information have been made available to the public prior to its theatrical release in Japan. In accordance with this policy, GKIDS will not release any further details or marketing materials about the film.
