The acclaimed sci-fi drama is considered over after its most recent fourth season, though creators hope that a fifth season will do.

After the recent fourth season, the network decided to cancel the sci-fi drama.
An unexpected fate for a series once considered one of HBO’s biggest tentacles – a critically acclaimed mystery box series 12 Emmy nominations (including winning supporting actress for Thandieway Newton).
Last month, co-creator Jonathan Nolan said in an interview He hopes HBO will give the series a fifth season to wrap up the show’s ambitious story of a robot uprising that changed the fate of humanity. “We’ve been planning a fifth and final season,” Nolan said. “We’re still having conversations with the network. We really want to make them.” Co-creator Lisa Joy likewise said that the series has been working towards a specific ending: “Jonah and I have always had one that we hoped to achieve. The finale. We haven’t quite reached it yet.”
However, linear ratings for the expensive series dropped sharply in the third season, and then further down in the fourth.

critics average at Rotten Tomatoes 1235139135 also dropped from the middle 12 first two seasons to mid-season 70 for the latter two. Fans have increasingly complained that the show has become tangled and tangled in its mythology, and that it lacks characters to support. Clouding it all is the fact that Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav has promised aggressive cost-cutting, though network insiders insist that saving money wasn’t a factor in the show’s cancellation.

Here’s HBO’s statement: “Over the past four seasons, Lisa and [Jonathan] have led audiences on a mind-bending adventure that raises the bar every step of the way. We A huge thank you to them, along with their talented cast, producers and crew, and all of our partners at Kilter Films, Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television. It’s been an exciting journey with them.”

HBO also has several tentacle shows, including the newly launched Dragon House

Also, like the often resurrected droids on the show, assuming there will never be a Westworld once. If dead wood
