South Side coming soon to HBO Max.
A representative of the Warner Bros. Discovery Channel-backed platform told Tuesday’s Hollywood Reporter .
“While HBO Max will not have a fourth season of South Side , we are excited for the rich world of Bashir Salahuddin, Diallo Riddle and Sultan Salahuddin,” the statement read. In addition to the “brilliantly talented” cast and crew, HBO Max also praised the MTV Entertainment Studios team behind the show.
“Running for three seasons, this beloved series balances cutting, hyperlocal social commentary and silly, sometimes zany humor about life on Chicago’s South Side ,” the message continued. “The result is an utterly unique, ambitious and fearless comedy that can be told to everyone living the American Dream.”
South Side follows friends Simon James (Sultan Salahuddin) and Kareme Odom (Kareme Young) in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood as they graduate from community college Trying to make a name for yourself in the business world.
Chandra Russell and Bashir Salahuddin are among the main cast, while recurring performers include Riddle, Lil Rel Howery , Zuri Salahuddin, Quincy Young and Langston Kerman.
The series premiered on Comedy Central in July 2019 and then headed to HBO Season 2 d] Max’s second season launching in November. HBO Max released the eight-episode third season in December.
