HBO's 'The Last of Us' franchise releases bleak first trailer

HBO released the first trailer for its video game adaptation The Last of Us , which looks very much in line with the tone of the game.

Break-in trailer for Hank Williams’ “The Lonely and Forsaken” showcases a series of desolate landscapes and tensions as it establishes the The post-apocalyptic world of the show. There are only a few desperate-sounding voiceovers, and the last is a whisper of “Save whoever you can.” The trailer (watch it below) also revealed the show’s 2023 premiere date.

Last Survivor Set Years after the destruction of modern civilization. It features Joel ( Pedro Pascal , The Mandalorian ) as Center, a tough survivor Apocalypse, is hired to smuggle a 20 year old Girl named Ellie ( Game of Thrones Alumni Bella Ramsay ) out of an oppressive quarantine. What seems like a trivial job turns into a brutal journey as they come to depend on each other for survival.

Order series in , the show is from Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) – he has a whole deal with HBO as well as game writer and creative director Neil Druckmann. HBO and Sony Pictures TV produced the series in partnership with PlayStation Productions, Word Games and The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog.

The cast also includes Gabriel Luna , Merle Dandridge , Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Storm Reed, Jeffrey Pierce ,

Anna Tove , Lamar Johnson, Kevin Woodard, Graham Greene, Elaine May Ernes, Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker. Dandridge, Johnson and Baker all provide voices for the video game. Dandridge will reprise her role as Marlene on the show, while Johnson and Baker, who voice Ellie and Joel, will play different roles .

Mazin and Druckmann executive produce with Carolyn Strauss, Evan Wells, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan and Rose Lam.
