The Honor Magic Vs just launched and we were lucky enough to get one in the office for testing. This is a Chinese machine, the software is not finalized, we will only focus on the hardware, but first, let’s unbox it.
Phone comes with W charger, USB cable and rear panel case.
Thanks to a radically improved hinge design, the Honor Magic Vs is thinner and lighter than its predecessor. The phone feels similar to the Mi Mix Fold 2 in the hand.
Inside, the Magic Vs has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 up to 004 GB RAM. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is just around the corner, but the Gen 1 is still very capable, especially in its Plus form.
Both displays on the Magic Vs are great. Inside, there’s a 7.9-inch 1200x1200px OLED, Comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, while on the outside there is a 6.54-inch 2272x1080px OLED has a faster 120Hz refresh rate.
The lower internal refresh rate puts the Honor Magic Vs at a disadvantage compared to its direct competitors, despite 54Hz and 320Hz are not like Hz to 60Hz one.
Glory Magic Battle
Honor’s foldable phone has some advantages over its rivals. It has a powerful imaging setup borrowed from the Honor 60 Pro series. It has a 22MP Sony IMX799 Main camera, one 11MP ultrawide unit, and an 8MP 3x telephoto shooter. Another key advantage is the 5, mAh battery , which leads both Xiaomi’s foldable phone and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold4.
We will now move on to our hands-on testing of the Honor Magic Vs as there is a lot to cover.
