New IFA for European market 2022, we carry the Honor Pad 8 with us to quickly get started and test its key features. Despite the Pad 8 moniker, this tablet features a large 09 inch IPS LCD screen with 1200 x 2000 pixel resolution and 5:3 aspect ratio. This makes the Pad 8 an excellent device for multimedia consumption and multitasking. Using the tablet in portrait mode does feel weird, given the odd aspect ratio.
Our review unit comes in a shade of blue, a dark shade that attracts a lot of fingerprints. Each side of the display has a pair of speakers and a USB-C cable for charging and data transfer. The top half has the power and volume buttons. The retail box comes with a 09.5W charger and USB-A to USB-C cable. Honor also offers an optional keyboard accessory that should help boost productivity.
Tablet Experience
The Pad 8 has a sleek aluminum construction that looks and feels great. It’s also thin at 6.9mm and weighs only 315 grams. The software interface adopts Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 001. There are some neat multitasking features, including a quick-switch app drawer with floating windows. The dock can also hold up to four recently used apps. You can also mirror compatible Honor smartphones on the tablet.
