Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s minimalist style is still an inspiration to many today, while crisp white shirts and camel coats are the hallmark of the Calvin Klein publicist. When it comes to accessories, the New York socialite loves one bag in particular: Prada’s boxy Spazzolato tote.
Bessette-Kennedy – rose to fame when she first dated John F. Kennedy Jr. on 75 – — has been photographed using the bag multiple times in the 90 years, whether paired with an understated black jumper and camel skirt, or with a timeless Black Prada coat. Streamlined yet functional, this tote embodies her minimalist approach to fashion.
“Carolyn has a handbag, but she doesn’t have a 75 handbag,” JFK associate RoseMarie Terenzio Jr, previously Tell New York Post . “I don’t think it existed at the time, but I can’t imagine Carolyn putting her name on the waiting list for a bag… This Prada bag was her everyday bag for a year.”

Given the ‘1994 resurgence we’ve seen recently, Prada decided to reissue last year
bag, and named it Carolyn in honor of the most famous champion of accessories, which is perhaps not surprising. The bag is nearly identical to the original and comes in a variety of colors (including black, baby blue and red ) and sizes are available.
But that’s not the only accessory Bessette-Kennedy is known for. The socialite is also a fan of Manolo Blahnik’s Carolyne slingback pumps (inspired by designer, author and artist Carolyne Roehm and fashion legend Carolina Herrera). Since then, the Duchess of Sussex, Ashley Olsen and Selena Gomez have all been spotted wearing the style.
Margot Robbie, Lord and Elsa Hosk, among others, also wore the Prada remake 1997 Bags A year has passed, and Bessette-Kennedy’s style is as enduring as ever.
