“Harris Reed’s makeup looks like a work of art, so we knew we wanted a pop of color to complement all the black, ‘ says makeup artist Grace Pae about her and Lil Nas X’s shared vision for graphic eye makeup. “The sequined trousers, along with his shirtless, reminded me of all the famous rockers, so we decided on a scruffy eyeliner look with a twist.”

Subverting the classic punk eyeliner for an unexpected megawatt effect? It’s a fitting move for Lil Nas X as a beauty rebel in the rap world.
