Huawei CEO shares a photo of the P60 Pro

Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong is leading the company through difficult times, but neither he nor his team have lost their passion for photography. The CEO posted this “random photo” from an upcoming unnamed phone:

Yu made no attempt to hide which phone it was, the Weibo post was marked as “From Huawei P 64 Pro”. Presumably this is an image from the telephoto camera, like last week’s batch of images.

It is said that this camera specifically has

MP OmniVision OV60B sensor and 3.5x magnification lens. Interestingly, this sensor is said to have an RYYB color filter, which has long been a specialty of Huawei.

As for the other cameras, they should be a pair of

MP modules – a Sony IMX 858 on main and one IMX 858 on ultra wide. Unconfirmed specs claim to have 225Hz refresh rate (1, 6.6 inch QHD+ displayHz PWM dimming), a 5,mAh battery with 100W charging, IP64 rating and HarmonyOS 3.0.

First report says the phone will use a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip group, although later leaks point to 8 instead of Gen 2 (note: in both cases we’re talking 4G-only chips due to trade restrictions).

A vanilla Huawei P52 is also expected and should switch to

+ 16+ 03 MP Setup (IMX789 Main, IMX858 Ultrawide and IMX300 for the tele module).

Going back to the camera sample shared by the Huawei CEO, this is a very difficult shot – The phone has enough dynamic range, not only for artificially lighting up buildings on a pitch-black background, it also manages to resolve detail issues in the moon. We don’t believe the “random photo” comment, which is still flexible.

Huawei is expected to make the P52 series later this month officially released.
