Small business grants provide a quick influx of cash that can be used for a variety of functions. Sometimes these grants come from the state or federal government. Fulton Downtown Revitalization Plan
Fulton Community Development New York’s agency is receiving funding for the city’s Downtown Revitalization Plan Grant application. The program aims to improve downtown businesses through building renovations such as adding signage or outdoor seating areas. Eligible businesses can apply for up to $100,000 per program before the October 3 deadline.
Sault Ste. Mary Downtown Revitalization Grant
Sault Ste. Businesses in Mary, Michigan can apply for the Downtown Revitalization Grant through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Eligible projects include interior renovations, technical assistance, or pandemic-related upgrades. Each grant can provide up to $25,000 and requires a 10% match. Eligible businesses must apply by October 6.
Kittias County CBDG-CV Small Business Grants
Washington’s Kittias County Chamber of Commerce recently launched a grant program to Support small businesses struggling due to the pandemic. The CBDG-CV Small Business Grant Program is for open businesses that are open during the COVID-19 pandemic and facing financial losses. October 7 is the deadline for applications.
ZenBusiness #MomsMeanBusiness campaign
ZenBusiness recently launched the #MomsMeanBusiness campaign to support moms starting their own businesses. The program does not include cash grants. But ZenBusiness offers to pay for the fees associated with business formation, such as LLC application and registration in your state. Eligible businesses have until October 15 to apply for the program.
Valdosta COVID-19 Small Business Grant Program
Valdosta, GA COVID-19 Small Business Grant Program Support Suffering Significant Local small businesses with pandemic-related losses. Hosted in partnership with the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce and the Black Business Coalition, the program is funded by the American Rescue Program Act. Applications are now open and must be submitted by October 17th.
Founders First Tadlock Grant
Founders First provides small business grants specifically for senior entrepreneurs. Tadlock Grant provides $1,000 to 25 senior small business owners. Qualifications include having a US Veteran founder and having 2 to 50 employees. Applications will be accepted until October 18th.
In Seattle Initiative Grants Only
The Seattle Office of Economic Development is accepting 2023 In Seattle Initiative Grants Only Program. The program includes $1.2 million in funding to support community business initiatives, particularly those related to equity and social justice. Grants will be awarded to community-based nonprofits, business organizations and community groups. Businesses may benefit from projects initiated by these groups. Or you can work with a sponsoring organization to apply for project funding. The current OIC partner deadline is October 18th. New applicants must apply by October 31st.
Maine Forest Restoration Initiative
Maine is providing $14 million in grant funding to forestry companies. The state’s forest restoration program is part of the Maine Jobs and Recovery Program. The state has supported 219 forestry businesses through the program. The latest funding round will provide grants ranging from $250,000 to $2,000,000 to support a variety of projects. The deadline for this round is October 18.
Texas Woman’s University StartHER Grant Program
Women-owned businesses in Texas can apply to Texas Woman’s University funding. The StartHER grant program provides funding to new and aspiring women entrepreneurs. In this round, 25 grants worth $5,000 are available. The application deadline is October 22.
Chula Vista Small Business and Nonprofit Relief Fund
Chula Vista, CA and San Diego The Foundation is providing COVID-19 recovery grants to local small businesses and nonprofits. The $3.6 million in funding came from the federal American Rescue Program Act and the San Diego Foundation. Local businesses with 100 or fewer employees and an annual net profit of less than $150,000 can apply by October 27.
Adrian MEDC Match on Main Grant Application
Downtown Adrian Main Street/DDA is applying for Michigan’s Match on Main grant A reimbursement program to support downtown businesses. The statewide grant program is provided by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. It provides up to $25,000 to local organizations to support small businesses. To apply, Adrian requires eligible local businesses to submit their information. Interested businesses have until October 21 to apply to Adrian. The Selection Committee will select two finalists and submit their own grant applications to MEDC by the October 28 deadline.
Vermont Working Land Enterprise Initiative
Vermont is providing grants to agriculture and forestry businesses in the state. The Working Lands Enterprise Initiative provides up to $35,000 in funding to support projects focused on market development, research, infrastructure development, training and energy. One-to-one matching is required and projects must be completed within 12 months. October 28 is the deadline for applications.
Fort Collins Pandemic Recovery Grant
Fort Collins, Colorado is still providing grants for small businesses struggling during the pandemic. To receive grants of up to $10,000, local businesses must have fewer than 50 employees and have less than $500,000 in annual revenue. Businesses must also demonstrate financial losses related to the pandemic. The first round of financing has closed. But the next round of applications is from October 3 to 31.
