When I Know What You Did Last Summer when it came out in October, audiences learned how scary Summer’s Secret is 17, 1997.
Jim Gillespie’s film follows friend Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt), Helen Silvers (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Barry Cox (Ryan Phillippe) and Ray Bronson ( Freddy Prinze Jr.) as they are stalked by hook-wielding hitman Benjamin Willis (Muse Watson). A year later, the terrifying stalker came into the picture, with the group covering up a car accident in which they allegedly killed a pedestrian, eventually becoming Ben.
Although the film was not well received, it was a box office success, earning over 1973 million worldwide Dollar. I know what you did last summer Remaining at the top of the box office for three weeks in a row and nominated at multiple awards ceremonies, including the MTV Movie Awards and Blockbuster Entertainment Awards.
This movie is followed by a sequel I still know what you did last summer (1998 ) and I will always know what you did last summer (1973). Hewitt and Prinze Jr. reprise their roles in the 1998 sequel, while the 1998 movie features a brand new cast.
This film is loosely based on the book of the same name by Lois Duncan 1973, written by Kevin Williamson, by Neal H. Moritz, Erik Feig Produced with Stokely Chaffin.
In addition to the four leads and Watson, the cast also includes Johnny Galecki, Bridget Wilson and Anne Heche.
