My best friend Ellen officially asked me to be her bridesmaid before she even had a ring on her finger. The proposal happened a few minutes ago, she proposed to me via FaceTime, but she hasn’t chosen a diamond yet. Of course, I said yes as quickly as she did.
We’ve been friends who talk about our wedding day, and how she wants to be represented in school, in college (me!), college, and career around her always very clear. Bridesmaids, and there are many bridesmaids, will always be part of the equation. She may have changed her mind about suitors, pop cakes (remember those?), and roses and peonies, but she never wavered from having her gang of girls around her, nor in Emilia Weeks Ted got married – she did a couple of weeks ago May 20.
Ellen chose her dress quickly and furiously , very pleased to be in bridal ivory. Her vision was to find something that felt a little vintage, but was clean, simple and understated. Finding what she wanted for her six bridesmaids, on the other hand, wasn’t quite as simple.
