I wasn’t overwhelmed by Harry Styles’ dazzling harlequin jumpsuit and tattoo-exposing plunging neckline at last night’s Grammys Attracted, nor by Jack Antonoff’s tight-tie-Buddy-Hawley look. The red carpet parade seems too flashy, too eye-catching, too much. Instead, the one who really stole my heart was Bad Bunny, who wore the simplest outfit possible while performing a song from the Grammy-nominated album Un Verano Sin Ti: a T-shirt and jeans.
His shape is a bit incredible, especially the tight high-waisted slim-leg pants. They look familiar, like they belong to goofy Jerry Seinfeld, high-five Mitt Romney, and definitely someone’s dad. This performance look – especially the cut of the jeans – feels aggressive where people are dressing to make headlines . Bad Bunny’s normcore jeans stand out in a sea of ball gowns and sequins. And it’s not just because they’re simple; daddy jeans are, in fact, one of the most controversial yet banal styles on the internet. There are forums and others dedicated to finding the perfect dad jeans, and users sympathize with, “I accidentally bought dad jeans online and I can’t return them now.” When I search for jeans, many comments – from welders, regular people , their wives – all use the word “comfort” for the same reason Bad Bunny chose them in the first place.
While Bad Bunny pants may seem rare these days, comfy jeans used to be

Pants also made a comeback this past menswear season. Martine Rose, who often draws on self-aware cheekiness and London nostalgia, released a pair of skinny, chiseled chunky jeans last season. Glenn Martens at Y/Project pulled the waistline a bit higher and made it in dark denim with wavy, almost ruffled legs.
