Imagine Kids + Family Nabs Movie Rights “Best Wishes” Book Series (Exclusive)

Imagine Kids+Family has acquired the film rights to Sarah Mlynowski’s Best Wishes book series with an eye toward film franchises.

Best Wishes, the first book in the series to be published by Scholastic on September 6, follows Becca Singer as a box arrives At the time, she had bad luck, no friends and lonely mail. Inside, Becca finds a bracelet and a mysterious note telling her to make a wish.

Put on the bracelet, and suddenly everyone wants to be Becca’s best friend, and as things quickly spiral out of control, she begins to wonder if she has a wish or a curse.

“Sarah has once again created an incredible world with her new collection Blessings. We look forward to exploring the theme of friendship, an Imagine Kids Stephanie Sperber, president of +Family, said in a statement.

Each book in

The Best Wishes currently in preparation The series will be adapted into a movie, and the audience will be taken to the next place where the magic bracelet is transported to another girl in a new city to help solve related problems. The second book in the series will be published in the spring 2023, will be co-authored with Debbie Rigaud, and author Christina Soontornvat will co-author the third book.

Mlynowski has also written a separate Whatever After and Upside-Down Magic book series, the latter has been turned into a Disney Channel original movie. Her books have been awarded Paramount , Fox, Nickelodeon and Walt Disney film and television rights.

“While Best Wishes explores the concept of wish fulfillment, it is ultimately about the magic of true friendship and connection. I’m excited that Imagine will use their magic to bring these stories to life,” Mlynowski said in her own statement.

Mlynowski is represented by CAA, Laura Dail Literary Agency and Myman Greenspan.
