The extraterrestrial beings of Apple TV+‘s Invasion are extending their stay on Earth.
The streamer has ordered a third season of the sci-fi drama from creators Simon Kinberg and David Weil. The renewal comes three-plus months after season two of the show concluded; production on season three is set to begin later this month.
“I’m so proud of what we’ve been able to do with our first two seasons of the show with our partners at Apple TV+ and our cast and crew,” Kinberg said in a statement. “This new season will continue to build on the scale, stakes, and propulsion of the Invasion, while keeping our characters front and center, bringing them together in ways that will hopefully surprise and most importantly move our audience, who have been so incredibly supportive and inspiring since day one.”
Invasion is told from the perspective of people in various parts of the world who are living through an alien invasion. The show’s cast features Golshifteh Farahani, Shioli Kutsuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Billy Barratt, Azhy Robertson, Paddy Holland, Tara Moayedi, Enver Gjokaj, Nedra Marie Taylor and Naian González Norvind.
The series is part of a sizable genre lineup at Apple TV+ that also includes For All Mankind, Foundation, Silo, Severance, Hello Tomorrow! and the upcoming Sugar and Dark Matter.
Boat Rocker produces Invasion. Kinberg and Weil executive produce with Audrey Chon, David Witz, Alik Sakharov, Andrew Baldwin, Dan Dietz and Katie O’Connell Marsh. Nick Nantell is EP for Boat Rocker.
