Usher and Jenn Goicoechea may be making it official.
People reports that the singer and his longtime girlfriend obtained a marriage license in Clark Country, Nevada, earlier this week. While the marriage certificate has not been filed—meaning they haven’t officially tied the knot—it does signify that Usher and Goicoechea are in it for the long haul.
The couple were first photographed together at producer Keith Thomas’s 40th birthday party in June 2019. They have two children together, Sire and Sovereign. (Usher also has two older sons from a previous marriage, “Cinco” V and Naviyd Ely.)
“Listen, when you find someone that you know is a great partner, of course it is an honor and a pleasure to be able to share life with someone who wants to share it with you and loves you, who you are,” Usher told People of their relationship. “We’ve obviously made a commitment to life for life together because of our children.”
Will tonight be the night they officially marry? It’s impossible to tell—but after Usher’s electric halftime performance, which included crowd-pleasing performances of “My Boo,” “Love in This Club” and “OMG,” there’s no doubt the couple will be riding high on the energy of the night. And with a number of same-day wedding chapels in the Nevada City, a spur-of-the-moment marriage is only a quick car ride away.
