It's official: The Nothing Phone (2) will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-series chipset

There’s nothing not to want from the press this week, as all the announcements are made at MWC in Barcelona, so it’s starting the teaser campaign for the upcoming Phone (2) in earnest.

We look forward to getting tidbits of information about new devices in the coming weeks and months, as this is a strategy Nothing CEO Carl Pei favors and has employed many times before, including There was nothing at OnePlus before. It all starts with the chipset. The Nothing Phone (2) will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 series.

Unfortunately, the company didn’t provide any more detail than that. We naturally assume it will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 powering the Nothing Phone (2), like many of the flagship Android devices launching this year.

According to Carl Pei himself, the Nothing Phone (2) will be launched in the US and is expected to be available in the third quarter of this year, between July and September. If that launch time frame pans out, it could potentially use a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2, if that even exists.

This news isn’t surprising, as we’ve already heard that, unlike the mid-range phone (1), the phone (2) will be higher-end. Just how high-end it is remains to be seen, however. Will it be a full-fledged flagship to compete with the Galaxy S23 Ultras, or a world of “flagship killers” to compete with OnePlus?

let us wait and see. Previous rumors spoke of an upcoming device with 11GB RAM, 23GB Storage, a 23 Hz OLED display and 5, 001 mAh battery. We’re curious to see if the transparent back design will stay with the Glyph LED.
