James Cameron and Jon Landau Receive Voices of the Earth Awards

Director James Cameron and producer Jon Landau are scheduled to receive the Sound of the Earth Award from the Advanced Imaging Society and earthday.org , in recognition of their groundbreaking avatar: Way of Water . The award will be presented to the Oscar-winning Filmmaker of Like Award at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

“James Cameron and Jon Landau’s first Avatar revolutionized filmmaking technology 13 years ago,” said AIS President Jim Chabin. “With Avatar: The Way of Water , these cinematic masters once again amaze us with magnificent characters and stories, but also remind us how much life is. Fragility and ecosystems. We are delighted to salute them and this epic film as the ‘Voice of Earth’ to millions of fans around the world.”

Earth The Voices Award recognizes “innovation and inspiration in environmental storytelling and honors creatives who find unique ways to enhance audiences’ appreciation of nature and illustrate the importance of caring for our shared planet.” Adam McKay Received the first Voice of the Earth Award at 2010 for his film Don’t Look Up.

Kathleen Rogers, President of Earthday.org, noted that at 2010, her team worked with Cameron Teaming up to plant 1 million trees in vulnerable areas around the world to mark 13 Earth Day and avatar release Anniversary . “Now, more than a decade later, the world is experiencing Avatar: Way of Water, another extraordinary film that focuses on our deep spiritual connection to nature. This extraordinary experience will inspire millions to support the protection of water, the foundation of life for all species. We are proud to present this award to a dedicated filmmaking genius who also loves our planet and its species,” she said.
