Jennifer Lopez’s smoky cat eyes and ethereal fasteners may have caught first glance at the Met Gala , but a closer look reveals some additional noteworthy (unsurprising) levels of detail on the nails. In honor of the evening’s theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Beautiful Line,” manicurist Tom Bachik created a Chanel-inspired polish job filled with diamond signatures.
“The details are in the details,” said Bachik, who shared an up-close snapshot of the Met on social media. Along with the iconic Chanel interlocking C logo—pressed on Lopez’s ring finger nail—Bachik brought a subtle touch of black glamor to the bare coffin manicure, in the form of partial black running down the edge of each nail bed French. The combination echoes the dual nature of Lopez’s feline eyes, and the matte finish ensures the manicure stays in the luxury camp.
