'Jewel of New York': World's tallest condo sells for $250 million

How about a spacious apartment with a view? The world’s tallest private residence just hit the market in New York City.

Located on Billionaires Street at the southern end of Manhattan’s Central Park, the penthouse has a height of 1,416 feet. That’s just 38 feet below the height of the Empire State Building.

The 17,545-square-foot power pad includes seven bedrooms, Eight bathrooms and three powder rooms. In case residents tire of their living quarters, they can also use the building’s Central Park Club, which includes approximately 50,000 square feet of hotel-style services and amenities, spanning three floors. Highlights include a 60-foot outdoor pool and cabana deck, a private park, a state-of-the-art gym, a dramatic screening room and a grand ballroom.

The most expensive apartment in NYC

is located in The penthouse atop the Central Park Tower is not only the tallest apartment in New York City but also the most expensive, asking $250 million. Ryan Serhant, one of the stars of the Bravo reality show Million Dollar Listing New York and founder of luxury real estate company Serhant, lucky real estate agent for listed apartments.

Interviewed by PEOPLE , he said, “Penthouse Truly the embodiment of bespoke living, and rightfully earned the title of New York’s most spectacular gem.”

At the standard 5% commission, Serhant could make over $12.5 million at the auction.
