Jeymes Samuel star-studded The Book of Clarence in theaters in September , Sony announced Thursday. Legendary Pictures Film is written, directed by the multi-hyphenated British filmmaker and singer-songwriter who directed the acclaimed Debut West The Harder They Fall.
Inspired by the Hollywood epic set in biblical times, The Book of Clarence starring LaKeith Stanfield as a hapless Jerusalemite resident, who seeks to use the Messiah’s influence for his own personal gain. It was a journey that led him to explore the idea of faith.
The film’s high-profile cast also includes Omar Sy, RJ Cyler,
Benedict Cumberbatch , James McAvoy, Anna Diop, Teyana Taylor, David Oyelowo , Alfre Woodard and Marianne Jean-Baptiste. Other cast members include Caleb McLaughlin, Babs Olusanmokun, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Nicholas Pinnock, Micheal Ward, Chase Dillon, Tom Glynn-Carney and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor.
In addition to conducting, writing and composing, Samuel produced Book of Clarence, Tendo Nagenda and Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter. Garrett Grant is executive producer. Sony distributed the film through a deal with Legendary.

Offline staff including Director and Cinematographer Rob Hardy (Mission: Impossible – Fallout), production designer Peter Walpole (The Matrix Resurrections) and Oscar-nominated editor Tom Eagles ( Jojo Rabbit). Antoinette Messam, who worked with Samuel on The Harder They Fall, returns as costume designer.
The post-production team included Adam Azmy (Avatar) as visual effects supervisor and Stefano Corridori (Blade Runner ) as special effects supervisor.
