According to a statement from Elizabeth Alexander, communications director for the Office of the First Lady, Biden on Monday “Cold-like symptoms” began at night.
Although Biden tested negative twice earlier in the day, the PCR test came back positive.
The first lady had mild symptoms and was prescribed a course of the antiviral drug Paxlovid .
The White House said that Biden will be isolated from others for at least five days, and she is currently living in the South in a private home in the Carolinas.
