A year ago, Bad Robot developed the IP as a limited series, with Zwick and Herskovitz in charge of adapting it, with Zwick hoping to direct most, if not all, of the episodes.
Not one of King’s horror novels, Summers
focus on- Year-old hitman, the eponymous Billy Summers, is contemplating retirement when he accepts the last job from an old client. (“One last job” was always synonymous with “something went wrong,” but we’ll get to that later.) Summers uses himself as a novelist as a cover story, settling in a small town for So hot that he actually started writing novels in his spare time, and the novel became his life story, from his sister being killed by their mother’s boyfriend to him becoming a decorated sniper.
Hit… gone wrong when regular customers don’t pay and Summers escapes the trap. His life is further complicated when he discovers that there is a bounty on him for saving a rape victim named Alice. Summers and Alice then embark on a cross-country journey to right the killer’s many wrongs.
The book was well received upon its release.
It is unclear whether Abrams will direct Billy Summers . As a feature film director, Abrams has focused almost exclusively on mature properties. His debut novel is Mission: Impossible III
