UFC light heavyweight Jonny Walker has had a terrible experience with CBD.
The Brazilian will face Ion Cutelaba this Saturday at UFC 279. This game is important because Walker desperately needs a win. Coming into the weekend, he had lost four of his last five games.
The sudden decline over the past few years has shocked fans. The 30-year-old made his UFC debut in 2018 and quickly made a name for himself. Walker had three straight knockout victories, which saw him clinch the title against Corey Anderson at UFC 244. In that game, the Brazilian was eliminated in the first round, starting his current spiral. Walker, it turns out, has a lot of problems outside the cage explaining his losing streak. Johnny Walker says he has been using CBD for the past three years. However, he later discovered he was allergic to THC. Walker’s unknowing use of CBD caused him to hear voices and experience some horrific side effects.

“I didn’t know until four or five months ago that CBD had a small amount of THC in it, and I was very allergic to THC. It gave me schizophrenia, panic attacks. In the past I’ve been drugged every day for three years, I don’t know. It’s not strong, just a tiny percentage, but my brain is super sensitive to these substances, I don’t know.” (h/t MMA Mania)
Johnny Walker continued, “I’ve been arguing with my fiancee thinking about a bunch of crap and I’m not acting like who I really am. It affects me so much, I don’t know what it is The more anxious I get, the more CBD I take thinking “this shit will help me calm down” and give me more poison. I’m not saying [CBD] is for everyone, it’s good for anxiety , but not for me because I have ADHD [ADHD]. THC [for me] is not good, I don’t know.”
