Those fights! #WorldSeries

Houston went all right in three innings. Staff ace and likely American League Cy Young champion Justin Verlander was perfect in nine-over bats. Kyle Tucker hit a pair of homers and Martin Maldonado performed an RBI single after one hit.

Tucker twice. 💪 #WorldSeries

However, disaster struck in the fourth quarter, as a single by Nick Castellanos and a double by Alec Bohm, Philadelphia Three points with two outs.

Don’t go anywhere, guys! We have a game.

Alec Bohm brings 2 points, the Phillies have 2 points out!

Verlander had a chance early in the innings to finish Phils’ double after nearly grabbing the Realmuto line – with One out and a driving comeback led by Reece Hoskins, but he had to accept a lone out in the force. The fifth inning was also not kind to Verlander as Realmuto got back on the plate and hit a two-run RBI of doubles to a draw. MLB@MLB

@Phillies has rushed back to tie it! ! ! 😱 #WorldSeries

That night, Verlander pitched five innings, allowing six hits, five winning runs and two walks while striking out five.

With both teams scoreless for the next four innings, Realmuto took Luis Garcia into the abyss. Houston had second- and third-place runners in the second half of the 10th inning, but David Robertson put Aledmys Diaz out to end the game.

The story of the day was Verlander, an infallible Hall of Famer and superstar pitcher who was in the World Series Continue to have trouble. It looked like the narrative would be thrown into the trash in three innings, but after the star struggled again, the story was the same.

No matter what happens in this game, the most important story is Justin Verlander, he needs Entered the World Series in the worst possible way, but quickly gave up a 5-0 lead. Teammates need to press him like they did in the first game of the ALDS. #WorldSeries #LevelUp

World Series Verlander really matters. Yes.

This collapse happened to Dusty Baker. Verlander should have been pulled before he made it 5-0 and allowed the Phillies to tie the game. Two bad innings for Verlander. Baker’s bad decision.

Michael Schwab @michaelschwab13

The second Verlander who started to struggle, Dusty should go to his deep bullpen. Now it’s a draw
