The Daily News Tuesday reported that Kadokawa Chairman Kadokawa Tsukihiko ( ) intends to resign from the company. The Tokyo District Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit against him earlier on Tuesday. Daily News said it learned of the chairman’s intentions through his defense team.
The company has not officially confirmed its resignation, but did issue a press release about the indictment, stating:
We take this matter very seriously and apologize to all involved including our readers, customers, authors, creators, business partners, shareholders and investors. This has caused considerable inconvenience.
