If there’s one thing to know about Kaia Gerber, she loves a good book. The model is such a voracious reader that she started her own book club, hosting Instagram Live conversations with buzzy authors of the moment. She’s even shared her life-changing literary list with Vogue, counting “The Year of Magical Thinking” by Joan Didion and “Just Kids” by Patti Smith among her all-time favorites. (Kaia, if you’re reading this, drop your Goodreads handle!)
Gerber took her love of all things literary to the street yesterday in Los Angeles, wearing a gray T-shirt that reads “If you love me read a book,” which she wore with a pair of track pants, black Adidas Sambas, a brown cashmere shawl, and a pair of oval glasses.
The model doubled up on lit merch, carrying a McNally Jackson tote bag—the same maker as her tee—which has become her recent go-to bag. Gerber’s books have also doubled as an accessory, giving us a glimpse into her interests, including “Simple Passion” by Nobel Prize recipient Annie Ernaux. Talk about taste!
Gerber isn’t the only model with an interest in literary merch. Emily Ratajkowski has previously worn a hat boasting the name of The Paris Review and toted around an Online Ceramics authors tote. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for a book club crossover.
