Timothée Chalamet noted in his recent British Vogue profile that he will be in the upcoming Wonka, a film he described as “so sincere” and “so joyous”. When THR met Chalamet co-star Keegan-Michael Key Reboot , we asked for his opinion on all of the above.
“He has seven music numbers, I have two, one of them is a group number and the other is a smaller group number,” explains Multihyphen. “I agree with all the adjectives Timothy uses, I would also add the word fantastic and a bit epic. It’s a beautiful, huge, full, beautiful piece of art, and director Paul King is a delightful person , he has a wonderful childlike heart. He’s the perfect person to direct this project.”
Golden Ticket Question: How about Mr. Chalamet as a chocolate lover?
“He’s so at ease playing Wonka, not to mention this hopeful quality he imparts to the character, a quality that he will never give up, He’s always ready for the next thing. He’s like, ‘Okay, that didn’t work out? We’re going to do this, we’re going to try something else,'” explains Key, who works with Olivia Colman, Sally Hawkins, Matt Lucas, Rowan Atkinson, Natasha Rothwell, Rufus Jones, Simon Farnaby and more. “And Timothy Chalamet, what can I say? St. Bleu ! This kid, you know, exudes charm and great confidence. He’s just A very delicious artist.”
