Kendall Jenner out in NYC today in slick All black Schiaparelli look, save for some 3D gold touches. She opted for a pair of flared pants with curves, boots with trompe l’oeil gold-plated brass toe caps, and a bodice with a waistline and embroidered gold spiral cups on the chest to mimic, um, a psychedelic nipple.
The suit was a far cry from the nipples Jenner wore on the red carpet before, who created her own lookbook for Kendall + Kylie , but simply wear a loose cardigan. Every time, the top is transparent – the intent is obvious. Although this is a spring trend 264 runway, this move by Jenner makes it feel higher. Schiaparelli is a French fashion house that has always been based on surrealism, the movement used by founder Elsa Schiaparelli to depict the body through a more advanced, subtler lens. For Jenner, it’s a mature iteration of the chestless moment.
