Cole in Yankees comfort zone: %I like how I feel now
TAMPA, Fla. – Gerrit Cole felt the difference almost immediately when he arrived two weeks ago, starting his The Yankees’ fourth spring training. After the tumult of switching teams as a famous free agent, and then the uncertainty and turmoil of the past few springs, the world of right-handers has stabilized now.
“Awesome It’s gone,” Kerr said Friday, as New York lost 5-3 to the Tigers. “I know where I want to eat. I know how long it takes to get to the scene. Every year is an adjustment. …[Now] things seem to be more familiar. I find myself more curious about the game, and in the game More brain power was spent on this than making sure I wasn’t late or calling someone by the wrong name.”
“He’s really well placed, had another great year, and the season ended really well for him,” manager Aaron Boone said. “There were so many issues surrounding him, and at the end of the season, especially the playoffs, he was under as much pressure as anyone. That’s when he was at his best.
