Khamzat Chimaev tries to explain his weight blunder to the hostile crowd during the weigh-in ceremony at UFC 279.
Chimaev (11-0 MMA) will of course compete with Nate Diaz (21-13 MMA) in the headlines Saturday night’s pay-per-view event in Las Vegas . However, after “Bolz” dropped 7.5 pounds earlier this morning, the bout was called off due to Diaz’s reluctance to compete in the heavyweight division.
With that, the UFC soon played musical chairs with other fighters set up for the card and ended with the following new fight lineup:
