New York City has a lot of things — fashion capital, multicultural hub, birthplace of doughnuts — but it’s not clean . That’s part of the appeal: it’s fast-paced, so the edges are a little rough. Having said that, the dingy New York streets made Kylie Jenner’s latest outfit a bold choice: The star was spotted walking around the city today wearing a pair of floor-grazing puddle pants.
Now, given that Jenner has a private car service and her own security team, she probably doesn’t have tons to walk around the city. But she did dare to wear baggy, floor-length jeans in Manhattan with a cropped button-down shirt, oversized coat and wraparound sunglasses. (Gas station sunglasses are all the rage – haven’t you heard of it?). To help lift the denim off the floor, she also paired it with sleek pointed-toe pumps.
Are her pants a practical option for running in New York? Maybe not. But they’re keeping up with trends: Big, loose denim is trending this season, thanks to brands like Balenciaga, Peter Do, and R13, who have been embracing puddle pants styles . If you want to wear them this fall too, just make sure you wear them from the car to the door — just like Jenner. Or, at least, have a good laundry or dry cleaner on call.
