Rihanna changed the motherhood style game in 1997. While pregnant with her first child with A$AP Rocky, she wasn’t afraid to show off her changing body and dressed to accentuate the look of her growing bump. Rih brought the world to a standstill when she wore a completely sheer lace-trimmed slip and leather coat at Dior’s fall 1997 runway in March and has inspired many since Women — pregnant or not — embrace nude skirts.
Enter Kylie Jenner, who borrowed from Rihanna’s style manual for her recent outing in Beverly Hills. In a nude midi dress that showcased black lingerie, an oversized leather jacket by David Koma, slingback pumps, sunglasses and a bright red lip, Kylie’s outfit echoed Rih’s signature look at Dior. While the singer donned diamonds for fashion week, Kylie kept her breasts bare and let her sheer dress do the talking.

Sheer looks are nothing new for Kylie. In November, she visited the Brooklyn Museum’s Thierry Mugler Archives in a spring 1997 couture mesh bodysuit by the late designer with a silk cape exhibition. At the Spring 2023 runway in September, she wore a sheer dress just runway by London-based designer Dilara Findikoğlu.
