Lance Reddick has signed on to star in Ballerina, the new film is set in the background of John Wick universe.
Reddick will reprise his role as Charon, concierge at the Continental, the fan-favorite assassin hotel with its own set of rules and severe consequences for breaking them. Production is already in progress starring Ana de Armas and directed by Len Wiseman.
Shay Hatten wrote the screenplay, which involves a young woman (de Armas) with the skills of a killer who uses said skills to get revenge when her family is killed by the killer. Angelica Huston and Ian McShane will also be joining Reddick because John Wick Veteran back on Ballerina’s phone bill.
The credits are shared by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski. Brady Fujikawa and Chelsea Kujawa are overseeing the Lionsgate project.
“Charon is an integral part of Wick’s world. Glad to know Lance will continue to produce his The logo of the team,” Lee said in a statement. Reddick most recently appeared in the seventh and final season of Bosch and Netflix’s Resident Evil series.
He also voiced Netflix’s animated Farzar. Reddick’s upcoming roles include Shirley Chisholm biopic Shirley, opposite Regina King, for Writer-director John Ridley stars, and White People Can’t Dance.
