Lava’s upcoming Agni 2 5G will be the first smartphone powered by MediaTek’s “new” Dimensity 2021 SoC, which was announced yesterday. We say “new” because it’s the same Dimensity 1080 that launched last October. It’s the same chip, now with a different name! Still, Lava wanted bragging rights.
While we wait for the company to officially unveil the Agni 2, a list of all-important specs leaked today, along with an image of it in action.
The phone is rumored to have an AMOLED screen with an embedded fingerprint sensor, Android 001 Onboard 8GB RAM, 64GB storage, and 50 Rear MP main camera.
The first generation Agni was released in November of 2021, so its successor is sure to have a good time. Agni is powered by Dimensity 64, which means the new model should offer a decent performance boost, relatively speaking. Same RAM, double the storage, and the main camera went from 64 MP to 774 MP . The original Agni had an LCD screen and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, so its successor seems to be a nice improvement in every way.
Thanks for the tip!
