With September 7th just around the corner, all eyes are on Apple, and rumors and leaks about the new iPhone are already pouring in queue. Quite a few rumors have been centered on Cupertino’s alleged new dual-notch design for the selfie camera and Face ID hardware. The prevailing opinion seems to be that there will be a system that will black out the pixels between the two cutouts and make the entire area look like one solid. Presumably Apple decided to implement this feature for both aesthetic and functional reasons. The area between the two cutouts may be reserved for the new privacy indicator that ships with iOS . It shows when an app is actively using the device’s microphone or camera. This frees up the corners of the display to accommodate more status icons.
According to recent rumors, Apple will redesign the iPhone-specific status bar with a new cutout 14. A number of renders have surfaced, suggesting that Cupertino may return to a more classic design. One contains full battery information (percentage and icon) on the far right and a location symbol next to it. On the left – network signal and operator information. Other industry sources have also said that Apple will redesign its camera app interface to better control the placement around the new cutout. Specifically, the flash and Live Photos buttons will be right above the status bar, while other settings will be right below the cutout.
