Lenovo’s latest Legion-brand product event has introduced a new version of the Y9000X laptop to the Chinese market. It has become a lighter and slimmer PC, if anything, in this generation, yet still boasts gaming credentials such as RTX 4000-series graphics to drive a 3.2K 165Hz display. It also boasts 140W charging for a 99.9kWh battery.

Lenovo has announced a resurrection for the Y9000X with up-to-date specs such as 13th-gen Intel silicon and ray tracing-capable graphics. The device is presented as a sleek 1.76mm high, 2.1kg ultrabook in an elegant silver-white finish, yet is also touted to pack a “Pro“-level cooling system that integrates new “90mm” fans.

The Y9000X (2023) will use it to help keep a 3200×2000, 165Hz PureSight Pro screen with DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and up to 430 nits of brightness on. It is rated to support the latest Lenovo gaming-optimization software tweaks such as Fn+Q 6.0 and Legion Zone, yet may still impress in terms of productivity with standard features such as Windows Hello.

The laptop is also augmented with Harman-branded speakers and SmartAMP audio enhancements. Nevertheless, the new Legion Y-series flagship makes sure to bring the RGB, found under its 1.5mm-deep deck of keys.

The new Y9000X supports Wi-Fi 6E thanks to its Core i9-13900H processor, in a single 32GB of DDR5-5200 RAM/1TB of PCIe 4.0 storage configuration. It starts at 12,999 yuan (~US$1,811) as an RTX 4060-powered base model, or goes for 14,999 yuan (~US$2,090) with an RTX 4070 card at the higher end.
