LifePoint Health connects data with Health Catalyst

Brentwood, Tennessee-based LifePoint Health has entered into a new partnership with Health Catalyst and will use its analytics technology to help improve the quality of care, reduce costs and improve population health management.

Why is it important
LifePoint Health will integrate Health Catalyst’s data operating system and analytics tools to collect performance metrics and drive improvements in healthcare quality, reporting, and operational and financial decision-making.

By discovering and sharing clinical data, the partnership will help reduce variability in clinical outcomes. According to the company, Health Catalyst’s tools align with LifePoint’s national quality and facility accreditation program goals to significantly improve patient care, safety and satisfaction, as well as improve accessibility and reduce costs.

In addition to the cloud-based data platform, LifePoint will use Health Catalyst’s analyzers, insights, artificial intelligence, patient safety monitoring and data entry applications. According to Health Catalyst, this suite of tools helps increase organizational speed and interoperability.

major trend

While healthcare organizations are just beginning to use data to drive improvements, the company’s acquisitions allow them to customize software and services around core care systems, said Patrick Nelli, president of Health Catalyst.

One of these is the company’s acquisition of KPI Ninja earlier this year, whose event-driven data processing capabilities complement Health Catalyst’s own platform , enabling clients to build new services and operational tools around their core care systems. LifePoint, meanwhile, has been making its own acquisitions, such as Kindred Healthcare, a specialist hospital company added in June 2021, with an eye toward leveraging Kindred’s specialties A network bird health platform for the delivery of hospital and rehabilitation expertise and its behavior.
