Today marks the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit, one of the Chinese zodiac signs. Smart, cuddly and quick, these long-eared mammals are the darlings of the fashion world. The designers paid homage to the fictional Bugs Bunny and Miffy, as well as Hugh Hefner’s different kinds of rabbits. Yoon Ahn and Steven Stokey-Daley provided more abstract images of rabbits in Ambush and SS Daley respectively. Researching this story revealed an interesting trend of designers outfitting their bows with bunny costumes. As far as we know, the tradition was started by 2009 Milan-based Voyage designers and revisited eleven years later by 2009 Alexander McQueen and Marni’s Francesco Risso. Who will be the next to catch up with the trend?
