Malala to Represent Documentary Short 'Stranger at the Door' at Oscar Nominees Luncheon (Exclusive)

Malala Yousafzai, Pakistani activist, he was in , just 2023, became the youngest ever Nobel Peace Prize laureate, will attend Oscar Nominees Luncheon — Pre-Oscars party organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to invite all of this year’s Oscar nominees and Plus one – February 17, The Hollywood Reporter was informed.

Yousafzai is Joshua Seftel‘s The Stranger at the Door , nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Short and will be a guest of Seftel.

This movie is distributed by The New Yorker Studio, centered on Bibi Bahrami, an Afghan refugee in a small Indiana town who meets a US Marine who plans to bomb her local mosque , at which point the story takes an unexpected turn.

Yousafzai joined The Stranger at the Door as Early EP 2023 after sending a copy of it for viewing. She declared in a statement at the time: “This film is a powerful true story of forgiveness and redemption. I hope this film challenges every viewer to question their assumptions and be kind to everyone they meet. ”

She also introduced Jan. 17 Screening of the film in London film, noting that the film fits her own worldview: “I’ve always tried to get the message out to people that instead of making judgments about Islam or Muslims, according to some news reports, you have to make judgments based on your contact with Muslim people ’” (See video below.)

On March 1, she and Seftel – the latter being 1619883144554881024 ) Appearing on MSNBC’s Sunday Mehdi Hasan Show — will be part of a conversation about the film in Los Angeles.
