Mammals – written by playwright and screenwriter Jez Butterworth ( The Ferryman created a six-episode series*)) and director Stephanie Lane – a lot. Half comedy, half drama, half romantic detective novel, half fantasy realism, the whole thing adds up to a dark and funny look at love and betrayal, with two couples in its crosshairs in line. Jamie (James Corden), a top chef, is on vacation with his pregnant wife, Amandine (Swiss actress Melia Crelin), but the fabric of their shared life begins to unravel: after a tragic After losing both of them, Jamie makes a second devastating discovery while borrowing Amandine’s phone.
