Manchester United made an incredible comeback with a 2-1 win over arch-rivals Liverpool in the Premier League.
New head coach Eri during the game against Merseyside Ker Ten Haag made four changes to the starting line-up in last week’s loss to Brentford before finally playing for the Dutchman.
Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford scored one in each half, which was enough to keep the three points at home.
The solidity of Lisandro Martinez and Rafael Varane in the defensive line saved many dangerous goal attempts from an always unmanageable Liverpool.
Anthony Elanga came very close to opening the score in the 10th minute. Bruno Fernandes received a brilliant through ball from Scott McTominay and he stretched to Elanga but the post blocked the screaming.
Erik Ten Hag’s smooth football allowed Anthony Elanga to pass the ball over the Liverpool area in search of Sancho.
Despite finding himself among the defenders, Jadon Sancho cold-bloodedly tricked James Milner and finished past Alisson to give the Red Devils the lead.
The second goal came from Martial. Martial was replaced in the second half and No. 9 Rashford scored. The England international kept his composure and took on Alisson to put the ball in the net.
Mohamed Salah’s header in the 81st minute kept things interesting until the end of the game when United took their first win of the season.
