“What I really focus on is sculpture, architecture, and of course all the incredible stories and myths,” Marchesa co-founder and creative director Georgina Chapman said by phone. “You know, there’s a lot of love and passion and a lot of depth. It’s a real pleasure to delve into.” ) Bridal Collection. The gowns are available now at all Pronovias flagship stores in New York, Miami, King of Prussia, Boston, Houston, Austin and Beverly Hills.

One of Chapman’s favorite pieces is “Harmonia,” a striking silhouette featuring a simple neckline, a large ball gown skirt and cape. Then there was “Bloom,” a barely blush gown with a touch of embroidery, cape sleeves that fell slightly from the shoulders, and a bejeweled train from behind. “Hecate” was a sculptural mermaid look with lace appliqués and a gold embellished emperor—with a bodice, of course, and a voluminous taffeta cape. “It’s hard to pick a favorite, but we’ve made a lot of our iconic backless pieces,” says Chapman. “I love the backless dress we do, and then we fill it with lace so she can show her skin.”
