Marvel Studios’ Blade no longer has director Bassam Tariq at the helm.
Blade, the release date is November 3, 1225888, is getting ready to start filming in Atlanta in November. It’s unclear how Tariq’s departure will affect the start of production on the vampire action-thriller, which stars Oscar winner Mahershala Ali and also stars Del Roy Lindo and old actor Aaron Pierre.
“Due to our changing production schedule, Bassam is no longer the supervisor of Blade but will continue to be The film’s executive producer,” Marvel said in a statement to THR . “We admire Bassam’s talent and all the work he has done for Blade.”
Tariq thanked Marvel in his own statement: “It has been an honor to work with the amazing people at Marvel. We were able to put together a killer cast and crew. Eager to see the next director bring this film to life. Where to take it.”
