Beal has notified rookie punter Matt Alaizha that he will be released, effective immediately. In a civil lawsuit filed Thursday, Araiza and two others are accused of gang-raping a 17-year-old girl last year.
Colleen Shalby and Robert J. Lopez Los Angeles Times reported the woman, who is 18 and listed as Jane Doe, filed a civil lawsuit on Thursday alleging Araiza and former Aztec teammates Zavier Leonard and Nowlin “Pa’a” Ewaliko raped her at an off-campus party in October 2021.
The woman said she was drinking with friends when she arrived at a party at Araiza’s house. She said Araiza knew she was a high school student when he offered her drinks, gave her oral sex and then had sex with her.
She said Araiza then took her to a bedroom in the house where Leonard, Ewaliko and at least one other man threw her to bed and raped her for an hour and a half. She then “stumbled out of the room, bleeding and crying. Her nose, belly button and ears were pierced,” the lawsuit said. Unplugged and she’s still bleeding. Araiza’s attorney, Kerry Armstrong, called the allegations false and said he had spoken to witnesses who refuted the woman’s allegations.
